Stars and Sabers Gazette Vol. 2
Dear Readers and Supporters,
Stars and Sabers Publishing is a hive of activity currently! Several of our anthology contributors are at Glasgow WorldCon for the Hugo Awards ceremony this weekend. And some of them are nominated for Hugo Awards! Gareth is also at WorldCon, sharing info on our imprint in between his own programming. Jendia is in LA, trying to stay cool, and working on several projects at once.
We send our Hugo-nominated contributors and all nominees our very best wishes, knowing that the accomplishment of a Hugo nomination is a tremendous recognition in speculative fiction.

Crowdfunding Update
As of today, August 1, we have two fundraising campaigns for this book. One has broader reach and has 11 days left. You can find it on Indiegogo below. This is the fundraiser that could lead to stretch goals and help us get our second and third anthologies going for 2025 as well. We have finalized their themes!
The second is the ongoing Ko-fi donation page, which has been directly funding the generous payments for our anthology authors!

THANK YOU for helping support this book. Shares of the links are also tremendously helpful!
Imprint Updates
We wanted to give all our supporters an update on what's new with the imprint and the anthology Of Shadows, Stars, and Sabers. Currently, we're editing several short stories. The deadline for stories is the end of August. I (Jendia) chose that because I wanted our authors to have time to attend various conventions, like SDCC and WorldCon, without needing to submit their stories before them. But several authors already have! Each story is like a gift to open and enjoy, and editing them is a true dream.
We're featuring our authors in a rolling out of posts on our new website's news page. These are similar to the ones originally featured here, but updated with new information in some cases. We will post a couple per week over the next few months.

What's Ahead
We've chosen our next anthologies, and they are themed! We have begun the planning for those for summer and autumn of 2025.
We also have begun acquiring single author books. We will have an announcement to share in the coming weeks!
If all goes according to plan, there will be a minimum of four titles released by Stars and Sabers Publishing in 2025. This is all tremendously exciting. But! We need to be sure our first anthology is funded. It's not just the author payments involved. The making of the book and the purchasing of shipping materials, shipping costs, swag costs, and other fees related to bookmaking all factor into our need for crowdfunding. Because we know so many readers are excited, we started tiers as low as $5, which gets your name in the acknowledgements of this groundbreaking anthology.
We're showcasing both established and new authors, expanding genres, and representing several nations around the globe. Welcome to this new venture. We hope you love it!
Ad astra per fabulas,
Jendia Gammon (Editor-in-Chief) and Gareth L. Powell (Managing Editor), Stars and Sabers Publishing.
