Stars and Sabers Gazette Vol. 8
We're sharing updates for our anthologies and publishing slate!
Dear Readers and Supporters,
We have incredibly exciting news! The very first universal preorder link for Of Shadows, Stars, and Sabers is live! This one is on Amazon, for the paperback. Soon, the book will be available for preorder in ebook and hardcover versions across all major bookseller sites (including Bookshop/IndieBound). Please do bookmark our book page for links as they update!
In the meantime, if you'd like to preorder the paperback from Amazon, head here:
Why Preorder?
Preorders are absolutely pivotal these days, because they signal to the distributor how many books they need to make. The longer the lead time, the better. We are tight, at just over two months, but it will be helpful to have preorders so they know what sort of order load this book will have. More preorders also signal to booksellers that this is a worthy title to have in their shops. Your preorders are appreciated!
Other Updates
- Our marvelous proof editor Scarlett R. Algee formatted the interior layout of our anthology, Of Shadows, Stars, and Sabers. It looks terrific.
- The dimensions for the hardback covers are with the design team at Dash Creative, LLC, so they can make the files to upload to the distributor for both covers: the interior book covering, and the outer sleeve with flaps. As soon as those are ready, they will be uploaded to the distributor, and then preorders can begin on the hardcovers. I anticipate this happening within the next week!
- Digital review ARCs are being sent to the trade review outlets as I type.
- Author blurbs for the book are also underway.
- I've ordering book swag and packaging in anticipation of the upcoming shipping to the crowdfund supporters (thank you!).
What's Next
- I ordered a physical copy of the paperback to check for quality. I'm extremely excited to hold the first paperback!
- Once I've approved this, I will begin to order stock for shipping to the crowdfunding supporters, our anthology writers, and our own personal stock for sale. Note that we will be distributing worldwide via Ingram and so direct sales won't be our emphasis, early on, although we will have some. (And there might be some exclusive things related to that, but those are still being worked out.) As mentioned above, you'll be able to preorder the book from reputable bookseller sites around the world.
- Interviews and press for this anthology will likely start rolling forth. We're very excited about this! It helps get the word out.
I think these stories will absolutely enthrall you as much as they did us.
